Registered Office Address

The templates below consider a company's registered office address. Following the introduction of the Economic Crime & Corporate Transparency Act 2023 (ECCTA), where a company has its registered office is under much greater scrutiny. A company must ensure that its registered office is at an appropriate address. This is somewhere that documents can be delivered to it by Companies House and which it can reasonably be expected will come to the attention of a person acting on the company's behalf and be capable of acknowledgement by that person. This may be a company's principal place of business, but companies may use their accountant's (or other professional's) address as their registered office address if they so choose.

Any notification to Companies House regarding a change of address needs to include a statement confirming that the address is an appropriate address.

Companies House has the power to amend a company's registered office address and companies may face fines or strike off action if following this they fail to lodge an application to notify a new, appropriate registered office address.

The templates below cover the shareholder resolutions, board minutes and Companies House forms that may be required in order to comply with the ECCTA and the Companies Act 2006.
